Is Martingale Allowed at Funded Guru?
The short answer: no, Martingale is a prohibited strategy at Funded Guru and will result in your account being closed.
What is martingale?
Martingale is a position-sizing strategy where you increase your trade size after each loss – typically doubling – with the goal of recovering all losses on a single winning trade. It can produce consistent small wins but exposes the account to catastrophic drawdown during any sustained losing streak.
Why is it prohibited?
Funded Guru is evaluating disciplined, consistent trading. Martingale doesn't reflect genuine risk management – it defers risk rather than controls it, and can produce misleading evaluation results that wouldn't survive in a live market environment. It is explicitly banned alongside other prohibited strategies including grid trading.
What happens if I use it?
Your account will be closed. This applies at any stage – Phase 1, Phase 2, or funded. There is no warning and no appeal for confirmed rule violations.
Does this apply to automated strategies too?
Yes. Whether you're running martingale manually or through an EA, the rule is the same. Automated strategies are permitted at Funded Guru but must follow all standard rules – a martingale-based EA will result in the same outcome as trading it manually.
